This institution was established as an inter college in 1982 to satisfy the thirst of the knowledge seekers in Liaquat Pur. It was upgraded as a degree college in 1989. In 2015, it was approved as a post graduate college. In 2021, its nomenclature was changed and it was named as 'Govt Associate College(W), Liaquat Pur' as the Master and BA/BSc programs were abolished by Higher Education Commission and New Associate Degree Programs (ADP) were started onward. In 2024, this institution had got approval for BS Programs fortunately. As a result of this, its nomenclature once again changed and replaced with "Govt. Graduate College(W), Liaquat Pur".
The total territory of this college is 12 acre and 4 kanal. Its building has five blocks: administration block, ADP block, computer block, graduate block and inter block along with a fully furnished library, three science laboratories and play grounds.
